Lamp Design and Craft

Putting the foundational skills of design thinking and model fabrication into practice, I sought to create a warm and inviting indoor lighting fixture. Theory was exercised with form, color, texture, and cast light to generate an aesthetically pleasing object tactilely and visually.

This spindle was sanded and cut to create vacuum form bucks.

Two halves of the lamp were thermoformed with polystyrene.

The polystyrene halves where joined, sanded, and painted.
